I wanted to give an update on my half-marathon training, but I didn’t plan for this entry too well as I’m currently sitting in an airport trying to figure out what to write. So here’s what’s been going on.
I’ve been sort of doing pretty well with the running plan… but I seem to be doing it every other week. Which means I’ll clock my 22 km total for one week.. and then only play soccer a few times the next week. This isn’t what I want to be doing and I really need to get back on schedule. The good news side of it is that I got back up to running 8k straight.
Then this past week I finally clocked on that I had a 10k race in New York City in only a week and a half and yet I hadn’t run a full 10k in about three months. So, as a last nod to fitness before I went on vacation (which is where I’m headed right now as I type this Thursday morning), I ran a 10k after having not run in almost two weeks. Uphill up Yonge Street. Not my smartest move. But I did it, and clocked in just over an hour for the full 10k which makes me pretty happy since that’s slightly quicker than the last time I’d done one (December-ish). So I’m feeling a bit better about the 10k race that’s coming upon the 22nd. I looked up previous times for this particular 10k and it seems the very last people completed it in 90 minutes so I’m not feeling too poorly about my speed.
And that’s all I’ve got. Boring entry eh? I’ll leave you with one of my favourite fitblr sayings for inspiration instead.
