This month is slightly infuriating from a hauling perspective. I’ve actually got some makeup incoming (as in I’ve already paid for it) but it either hasn’t arrived yet (hello Makeup Geek Vegas Lights palette!), or I have to wait till I meet up with my good friend from the USA who is hoarding my goodies for me (which will be very, very soon!).

So, for now, the Canadian-bought cosmetics.

While I’m really liking my Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Blonde (despite the colour being slightly pea-soupy on me), I “needed” something that would be quicker to apply for my upcoming trip. (Whatever excuse it takes eh? ;)) By virtue of this being a pencil, it’s already automatically easier to apply since it doesn’t require a brush, or the messiness that comes with cream products like the Dipbrow. I’m not entirely sold on this product for daily use though. The formula is INCREDIBLY hard which can make application a bit rough on the brows. I also can’t believe how much more expensive this is than the dipbrow (27 versus 23) and yet you will definitely run through the Brow Wiz months, if not years, quicker than you could ever run through the pomade.

In the last year I’ve developed a really unfortunate problem with eyeshadow primers. No longer will a single primer work on me, I have to use two of them (Urban Decay and NARS‘ is what I currently use). This is obviously annoying, so I’m still searching for one that will work on its own. Unfortunately, Too Faced Shadow Insurance didn’t work for me. I used it for a week straight and it seemed fine for a normal work day (roughly ten hours), but when I tried wearing it for 16+ hours it just couldn’t perform. I had one eye that creased and the other didn’t. Frustrating. I’ll be taking it back in the next week or so since it just didn’t work well enough for me.
