Every year Kat Von D seems to completely blow it out of the water with her holiday releases. She doesn’t go overboard like some brands, and instead chooses to create a single seriously impressive palette. This year’s 2016 holiday release is the Metal Matte palette and it is a BEAUTY.
There are 9 metal crush formula shadows (the top row) and 12 matte shadows (bottom row).
I’m currently working on a video tutorial for a look from this palette as well as a challenge week, so look for those within the next two weeks! In the mean time, here are the jawdropping swatches:
Kat Von D Metal Matte Swatches
The product featured in this post was sent to me for consideration.
Those metal shades are to die for!
Aren’t they amazing? As I was lining up the pan shots with the swatches I was taken aback at just how colour accurate they were!
Second time I see the palette today, the universe is trying to tell me something… 🙂 Gorgeous swatches.
lol HINT HINT HINT 😉
Wow! Love the swatches. I’ve been really on the fence about this palette. I mean, it’s totally gorgeous but how much I would use it is something I’m still trying to figure out. Looking forward to seeing some of your looks with it!

I get what you’re saying… although I do think the shades would be lovely on you and I *KNOW* you can rock any shade with those eyes!
You are such a sweet talker 😉

Pffft! It’s just the truth!
At first seeing this palette, I was sort of meh, but really liking those swatches! Might add it to my Xmas list!

I was off and on about it. At first sight I was like ooooo, then I got disinterested. Then the reviews started coming out and I was like “okay I need dis”.
My goodness, EVERY shade is stunning! I really like that she doesn’t release a million limited edition pieces (which are usually questionable quality…) but instead the one stellar offering. This is such a beautiful palette!
A lot of people have said that – that it’s far better to come out with one item and do it well. She’s also one of the few brands that doesn’t outsource to China for her holiday palettes (huge thumbs up there).
Love, love, love this palette! Worth every penny! Mostly I’ve only been playing with the blues and greens but I can’t wait to see what looks you come up with.
I’m trying to figure out ways to be inventive with it since I usually opt to keep colours in a rainbow gradient. Fingers crossed I come up with different stuff!
i really love this palette and i think it worth the money for sure ! amazing colors !

Yeah it’s a HUGE honker of a palette. Like absolutely ginormous. l got the Mi Vida Loca Remix palette last year and I thought that thing was big… this thing is equally large just in a different shape!
