Urban Decay Naked Reloaded

We all knew this was coming after the funeral was held for the original Urban Decay Naked palette… say hello to UD’s latest incarnation: the Naked Reloaded palette!

Urban Decay has ditched the original Naked palette in favour of updating it for our tastes today. They’ve added more mattes and removed the brush (hooray for both!). I’ll have a full review on my YouTube channel up on Tuesday, but in the meantime please enjoy the swatches!

  1. I didnt even notice the brush was missing when I was looking at the promo pictures! Guess that shows how much I use them in the original palettes 😂

    1. I originally missed the brush thing too! It wasn’t till I was reading the promo sheet for the palette that highlighted that fact that I was like “ohhhh yeahhhhh”.

  2. The layout is interesting: 3 browbone shades, 3 peachy shades, 3 browns, and 3 warm transition shades. UD could have released this as “Naked Peach” and kept the original.

I stopped collecting the naked palettes at Naked Heat. The cherry palette didn’t really scream “cherry” to me. I like to see a Naked Grape palette with purples, burgundies and greens, and a Naked Ocean with blues, greens and teals.

Also, releasing a palette based on current tastes doesn’t fit in with their “Beauty with an edge” branding. I know I’m not the first to say this, but the brand that used to help set the trends now just follows them.

    1. I find the layout pretty weird, if I’m honest. I would’ve preferred the “light to dark” method. You’re right though… it could’ve been a Naked Peach without much change. I got a lot of Sweet Peach vibes from the last look I did (from my video), which made me love it even more.
I also didn’t love the Cherry palette, but I would LOVE to see a Naked Grape or Naked Ocean. I mean, at this point “Naked” no longer holds any meaning, but if they need to use that label to sell the product I’m fine with it… just give me some colour!
I also agree with you on the “beauty with an edge” branding… which is sad. They’ve definitely gone away from that. And I think it was the OG Naked that took them down that path when they realized how much they could make off neutrals sadly.
