While this set of looks doesn’t top Volume 40 for epic-ness (seriously – I’m way proud of some of the looks in Volume 40), there’s still some really, really pretty ones in here.
Enjoy!
I can’t even rember why I was so done up for this look to be honest. I must’ve been doing SOMETHING important to warrant false lashes…
Eyes
- MAC Cork through the top of the crease.
- Inglot AMC Shine 28 all over the lid and inner tearduct.
- Inglot Matte 325 on the outer half of the lid and to line the lower lash line.
- Urban Decay Blackout in the outer corner.
- Wet n Wild Brulee on the brow bone.
I created the wing with the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper and tightlined my water lines with Marc Jacobs‘ Highliner Gel Crayon in Blacquer. On my lashes is CoverGirl‘s Clump Crusher mascara with a pair of Houses of Lashes Bombshell falsies on top.
Rest of the Face
- Bronzer: Hard Candy Hula Hula
- Blush: Milani Tea Rose
- Highlighter: MAC Silver Dusk
- Lips: Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial
This look (without the glitter) has been a constant favourite of mine over the years. It’s one I know I can resort to if I want to look like my eyes are on fire and don’t have to think about the eyeshadow combination. Kind of a failsafe, you know? I wore this to the VIB Rouge event at the Eaton Centre in Toronto (thank you for the invite Julie!) and had to add on some glitter just for fun. Except I love it so much with the glitter that now it’s REQUIRED for this look…
Eyes
- MAC Gleam all over the lid.
- MAC Coppering on the outer half of the lid and through the crease.
- MAC Handwritten to deepen the outer corner.
- MAC Blanc Type on the brow bone.
I applied some Too Faced Glitter Glue all along my lower lash line, then patted on MAC‘s Reflect Copper glitter (THIS STUFF IS INSANE). On my lashes is Urban Decay‘s Perversion mascara.
Rest of the Face
- Foundation: Boots No7 Instant Radiance in Cool Vanilla
- Bronzer: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil
- Blush: MAC Ripe Peach
- Highlighter: Becca Champagne Pop
- Lips: Revlon Lipstain + Balm in Flame
This one is fairly “old” since it’s been sitting on my harddrive since June. I think I was trying to figure out how to balance coloured eyeshadow with bright lips. I actually think this works… but I’m not sure if I’m trying to convince myself of that, you know?
Eyes
- Makeup Geek Fantasy all over the lid.
- Makeup Geek Dirty Martini on the outer half of the lid.
- Makeup Geek Vanilla Bean on the brow bone.
- Makeup Geek Daydreamer on the inner corner.
I lined my lower lash line with Makeup Geek‘s Masquerade eyeshadow and created the wing with MAC‘s Blacktrack fluidline. On my lashes is Make Up For Ever Smoky Stretch mascara.
Rest of the Face
- Foundation: Boots No7 Instant Radiance in Cool Vanilla
- Bronzer: Hard Candy Hula Hula
- Blush: essence Life’s a Cherry
- Highlighter: MAC Soft & Gentle
- Lips: Too Faced Melted Rainbow
With all the hype surrounding the upcoming holiday palettes by Too Faced, I just had to whip out some of my older holiday palettes by them. I love their holidays palettes so much!
Eyes
(all Too Faced shadows from the Everything Nice palette)
- Shiny Happy on the lid.
- Secret Lovers on the outer half of the lid.
- Be You through the crease.
- Kindess is Free barely tapped on the outer corner of the crease.
- Dream On on the brow bone.
On my lashes is Urban Decay‘s Perversion mascara.
Rest of the Face
- Foundation: Boots No7 Instant Radiance in Cool Vanilla
- Bronzer: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil
- Blush: Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach
- Highlighter: Too Faced Inner Light
- Lips: Too Faced Melted Violet
And last up is a look I wasn’t sure how to do when I first looked at the quad. This utilizes The Body Shop‘s Pink Poppy shimmer cubes which have a very vibrant hot pink, an orange, a somewhat timid lime green and a silver. That’s one hell of a combination!
Eyes
(using The Body Shop shimmer cubes in Pink Poppy)
- Orange shade all over the lid.
- Too Faced Cherry Cordial to deepen up the crease (had to use something else because the look would’ve had no dimension).
- Hot Pink shade through the crease.
I lined the lower lash line with the Green and Silver shades from the shimmer cube quad, then applied CoverGirl‘s Clump Crusher mascara to my lashes
Rest of the Face
- Foundation: Boots No7 Instant Radiance in Cool Vanilla
- Bronzer: MAC Refined Golden
- Blush: Hard Candy Skinny Dipping
- Highlighter: Becca Champagne Pop
- Lips: Revlon‘s Papaya lipgloss
Oh my godddd that first look is amazing!!
Jodi recently posted…Acne Busters: Paula’s Choice
Thanks Jodi! Sometimes it just turns out so right, you know? And it’s weird because that lid shade is actually a pale, pale iridescent blue, but it came out looking purple! Eerie…
All the looks are so beautiful – as always! 🙂
My favourite one is the first one, I just love the violet and purple tones.
Chantal recently posted…Essential Care Mascara
There’s also something about violet and purple shades that makes it a lot easier to blend onto the eyelid too. I’m not sure what it is, but it doesn’t seem to matter what brand it is, I can always get purples to look a lot more natural on the lid than even brown tones.
Thanks for your sweet comments (as always!), Chantal! <3
OMG, the first look has to be my favourite! The way each shade seems to blend in seamlessly is amazing. I wish my blending skills are half as good but every time I try, I seem to over blend or under and everything just look messy.

Over blending is a serious concern of mine. Or blending so much that I actually just end up removing all the makeup from my lid!
Ahhh. That first one – I’m always a sucker for purple shadow. LOVE this look!!

Thanks Dee! I think I’ll be wearing this look more often since it just got rave reviews from everyone! 😀
That last look is EVERYTHING.

Oh interesting – I didn’t think that one had much appeal to other people. I like it, but it’s a little oddball, you know? Thank you for commenting on it!
The first look is SO hawt 🔥! I love the crown braid as well. And Melted Violet looks fantastic on you!! 😍
I keep resorting to that braid to keep my hair off my face so I can breathe in the damn Toronto heat we’ve been having! I love Melted Violet, but it’s got a much more liquid formula compared to the rest of the Melted lipsticks, so I don’t wear it as much since I find it usually wears off funny. 🙁 Might just be my tube though, it’s the only one in my collection of them that does that!
Girrrrrllll how’re those Makeup Geek shadows going? I want to hear all about them!
Oh my gosh, I LOOOve them!!! 💖 I don’t have your blending skills so I’m mostly a one shade and done kinda girl and they are perfect for that! Untamed with several layers of mascara gives me a kinda smokey look – no super blending skills needed 😉 And Pegasus on my lower lashline is a gorgeous pop of color for summer! And… Girl, I could go on and on!! I’ve got my eye on the other Foiled Eyeshadows for my birthday next month 😎 Thank you again!!
Yay! I’m so glad they’re working for you! 😀
In my excitement over the MUG shadows, I forgot to ask – would you consider a tutorial on that crown braid?? Pretty please? 😆
Ahhhhh! You’re like the fifth person to ask! I’m going to have to do it at this rate!
Your eyeshadows are gorgeous….BUT I LOVE your hair in the first picture with the braid!!! I can’t stop wondering how to do that on myself!!
whitney recently posted…Polish Pop nail art stickers by KISS
Oh man! Everyone’s asking me how to do it and I have noooo idea how to take pictures of a hair tutorial! It’s just an inverted French braid that’s then loosened up by pulling the edges of the braid out a bit. I guess I’m going to have to provide an instructional tutorial…
Chelle, can I just BE you? I love it all – the pretty Rapunzel hair in the first picture, all the eye looks (especially The Body Shop one), and that Melted Violet is giving me all the feels!

Awww Shawna, you’re so sweet! I’m so surprised The Body Shop look is getting so much love! 😀
My favorite looks are the first one (you look like snow white’s evil step mother with the icy inner corners!), the purple and green (I’ve tried this combo before too and absolutely love it) and the taupy neutral look is effortlessly easy! I really need to do more colorful fun looks, the last month I’ve just been stuck with neutrals trying to finish up some shadows! :p

Hah Evil Step Mother! I love it!
The purple and green was definitely pulled out of nowhere. I love how it works out though – I need to do stuff like that more often.
Finishing up shadows is fun though – nothing beats finally cracking down and completing one!
Wow! All of these looks are so gorgeous! Each one is prettier than the next! I love the purple tones and how you’re one of the few people that can rock reds, cranberries and golds! Stunning!

Awww thanks Jenan! And I do love my reds! 😀
Eyes #1 & #3 are my favs! Looks like I’m going to pick up a few Inglot colours from IMATS this year!

I’m so excited that they’re going to be at IMATS this year!
Ooh, that AMC Shine in the first look is gorgeous stuff! Each and every look here is stunning, Rachelle 🙂 You’re making me feel like I need MAC Gleam too!
Jen recently posted…Look of the Day: Bumble Empire
Gleam is a bit of a touchy shadow. It’s a lustre, so you REALLY need to pack it on to get some pigment on your lids. I bought it because the makeup artist used it on me for my wedding, but I don’t think I’d purchase it again (although it is lovely, it’s just such a pain to work with).
Thanks for the heads up! 🙂

Thank you so much Kristelle! I always get a ton of compliments when I wear that hairstyle. <3
I think one day I will try (and I put a lot of emphasis on that word) to recreate some of your looks because DAYUM. You are seriously talented my friend. That first look is gorgeous, but I also really like the neutral Too Faced holiday one.
Natalie Heather recently posted…Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Defining Singles
I think that’d be so touching and neat if you did recreations. I’d love to see how people interpret looks onto themselves!
Loooove that first look! But I’m a sucker for purple!!
Thanks Elaine! Purple is just so easy to work with too!
I love these looks, but the purple and green one you were unsure about is my favourite.

I agree. I like that it’s different. Sometimes trying to combine two colour families like that can be such a disaster – I’m just glad this one turned out well!
That first look is gorgeous! I have got to try Inglot shadows now! Glad they will be at Imats this year. I really like your ‘eyeshadow by numbers’ way of explaining how to get the looks!
Thanks Sandie! Inglot’s fairly amazing. I never, ever struggle with their shadows and they’re just so vibrant that they’re an absolute pleasure to work with. I’m really excited they’re going to be at Toronto IMATS this year as well!
Love this! You look like Elsa with the first look. Those colours look gorgeous and so pigmented! I also love the taupey coloured lid. Great job!

Oh that’s so cute! Now I see the Elsa-ness! I should really do an all out Elsa look at some point. 🙂
