Too Faced is taking their peach train and riding it as hard as they can, and I, for one, am definitely not complaining!

The latest in their Peaches and Cream range is the White Peach palette that was launched earlier this month.

Much in the same vein as their White Chocolate Bar palette, this palette is a toned down colour palette that focusess on predominantly peach shades with a hint of purple.
Ack! I had no idea the BECCALight Chaser Highlighters were a limited edition item! These have been out for a few months and definitely caught my eye, but I thought they were a permanent product so put aside reviewing them until I got some of the more limited edition holiday items out of the way. I stand corrected – these are LE and they’re going FAST!
So what are these beauties? The Light Chaser Highlighters are BECCA‘s answer to the multi-colour highlighter craze. I’ve been raving on and on for a few years now about how much I love highlighter colours that are unique and different. I’m very much done with the champagne tones and icy white shades that are common (for my skintone). I want something more punchy, more vibrant and with some added colour in the mix. BECCA makes some of the absolute best highlighters on the market (Champagne Pop and Pearl are staples in my collection) so I was really happy to see them dip their toes in the multi-coloured highlighter game.

There are six shades in the collection, and I’ve got three of them featured in this post:

Of the three I tried, Champagne Dream flashes Bellini has the least colour payoff and sheen… in pictures. On the skin it actually beams a heck of a lot stronger and you do see shifts of peach as you move your face around in the light. (Refer to my colour swatch above for an accurate portrayal of the colour.) That being said, I would definitely say this one has the least amount of light bounce back when compared to the other shades I tried.

Rose Quartz flashes Seashell has more of that “bounce back” I’m referring to. You can definitely see the light is reflecting off my cheekbone. This shade is beautiful, slightly subtle, and provides a gorgeous pinky-purple sheen to the cheekbones.

My favourite of the lot, Pearl flashes Gold knows how to reflect the light perfectly! It’s a pale yellow shade that really lights up the cheekbones.
Final Thoughts
I’m really sad that these are limited edition because I feel like they’re a beautiful addition to BECCA‘s range of products. Since the brand is so well known for their highlighters, it seems like such a shame to have these beautifully coloured ones be available only for a limited time.
Of the shades I tried, Pearl flashes Gold was definitely the most reflective, so if you’re looking for something bright – go for that shade. Champagne Dream flashes Bellini was a bit more subdued on me, but I feel like it would look beautiful (and more reflective) on a far deeper skin tone than me.
Looking for a bit more of a metallic sheen in your lip colour? essence has released eight lipsticks in a range they’ve called “Metal Shock”. Metallic lips are one of those things that kind of comes and goes in and out of fashion, and it’s really nice to have an option at the drugstore that you know isn’t going to break the bank.

essence says that these are “creamy lipsticks [that] let the lips shine in intensive wow-colours with a metallic effect.” They are very easy to apply (they’ve got a lot of slip to them straight out of the tube) and the colour impact is STRONG. You will find that some of the shades have a bit more of a metallic effect compared to the others.

I have four of the eight shades available, and my shade selection shows kind of what the range has to offer: some more “normal” colours (the pink, the deep burgundy), as well as some “out there” shades (the rose gold and the green). There are a teal, a gold and more pinks available as well!

I think the more unique shades – Iron Maiden and Venom – actually have more of a metallic sheen to them in comparison to the pink shades. Which isn’t to say the metallic-ness isn’t there, but I think it shows how some shades can display more of a metal edge than others.

Wearing Iron Maiden
Iron Maiden is my FAVOURITE colour out of the lot I tried. It has this incredibly molten, metallic look to it that just utterly *gleams* on the lips. It looks like a foiled liquid lip colour and I am in LOVE!
Wearing Guns ‘n Rose
Pink is just not a colour I’m drawn to, but there’s no denying the brightness of Guns ‘n Rose!
Wearing Purple Pistol
Perhaps the most “normal” shade out of the lot, Purple Pistol is a lovely burgundy with a hint of metallic sheen. Slightly patchy on application on the inner rim of my mouth.
Wearing Venom
Venom is so much fun to put on, and dare I say… almost wearable? Maybe I only say that because I’ve gotten used to wearing odd coloured lips, but I really think this is quite beautiful!
Final Thoughts
At $4.99 USD per lipstick, the essenceMetal Shock lipsticks are an inexpensive way to try a more unusual lip colour that you may not have in your collection. The colours applied and wore smoothly, but since they do have a lot of slip to them, you may notice some wear and tear showing on the outer corners of your mouth. This is a place I’m pretty susceptible to lipstick migration, so I’d suggest a lip primer or lip pencil to help keep the colours in place. That being said, that doesn’t detract from the appeal of these colours for me – I think the Metal Shocks are a great product at a wonderful price point. If you’re looking for something truly unique – grab the shade Iron Maiden. Outside of mixing pigments with gloss, I’ve never seen a lip colour like this before. It’s gorgeous and oh-so-perfect.

The product itself boasts shades of blue, pink and yellow (as described by the brand), but I personally see a lot of green in my own product. I believe each compact will have different swirls of colour, so you may get one with more pink or more blue. Fundamentally, you can’t really be too precise with your brush if you want more blue or pink since those streaks of colour just aren’t big enough.

It also comes with a whopping 12 grams of product, so I assuree you you’re not going to be running out of this one any time soon!

All swatched together, my Diamond Fire comes out with a very strong green tinge. The reflection is jawdropping, and you may find you need to lay off on a heavy application until you’re used to the kind of payoff it delivers! No complaints here though – I like my highlighters to be cause almost mirrorball reflections!

On me, the green-tinge is there, but it’s transformed a bit more into a yellow-green hue. I love unique highlighter shades, so for me this is a glorious addition to my highlighter collection.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for something not only gorgeous in the pan, but also something a little bit more unique (because let’s face it – there’s plenty of gold or champagne coloured highlighters on the market), the Too Faced Diamond Fire highlighter is for you. Aside from excellent longevity (my highlighter is still beaming after an eight hour work day), there is something to be said for the beauty of this product. Seeing a gorgeously swirled marble product that delivers a unique sheen to my cheekbones? I’m alllll in!

I had been so amped for the release of the Chocolate Gold palette (see my collection try on video here) that I hadn’t stopped to consider they’d make it a whole collection! So when I saw this product previewed shortly before the collection launch I was astonished – it was one of those items that kinda takes your breath away just because it was so unexpected.

Following along in their Melted Matte and Melted Latex packaging, the Melted Gold Lip Gloss is more similar to the Melted Latex in terms of application. The product, however, does not have that latex-like glossy sheen, but more of a pigmented gloss shot through with glitter shimmer.

I know when I say “gloss”, I tend to think of something a bit more translucent. And while there is that transparent edge to the product, you can definitely see from the swatch above that this is an *incredibly* pigmented product. More than I would ever expect any gloss to be! Also, don’t let my comment about glitter in the product scare you – it’s neither chunky nor going to fall off your lips. It’s more a fine particle shimmer… except there’s a ton of it suspended within the base of the gloss.
Wearing Melted Gold
Over top of my naked lips I feel like the colour is STUNNING. I had no concept that a gold lip gloss would be something that I was missing in my collection as a standalone product. I had thought that I would only wear this on top of a red lipstick to give it some oomph – not wear it by itself! But now that I’ve seen what I look like with gold gloss on… well… I’m enamoured!

The close up shot above should give you an idea as to the texture of the product. It’s not extremely sticky, although – let’s face it – glosses are inherently sticky, and to say otherwise is just flat out wrong as they have to have some tack to them in order to stay on your lips. The gold glitter particles are quite tiny, but you can see them everywhere!
Lasting power is as you would expect for a gloss: 2-3 hours before you’ll need to reapply it provided you’re not eating or drinking, which will, of course, cause product transfer.
Final Thoughts
I had no idea I needed a gold lip gloss in my life aside from extremely temporary use, but now that I’ve got one I’m in love! This might be the sort of thing you pick up for special occasions, or for a unique makeup look, but you may also want to give it a shot just to see how it looks of yourself. As I said above, I wasn’t expecting this to look so nice and, frankly, almost natural on me. I think it’s one of the more fun products I’ve tried of late!
