Swatch Sunday: ColourPop Uh Huh Honey
My obsession with yellow eyeshadow is in full swing lately, and I think that was largely inspired by this ColourPop palette!
The Uh Huh Honey palette features 9 gorgeous shades revolving around yellow.
8 of the 9 shades are eyeshadows, but the colour in the middle is actually a pressed glitter that isn’t intended for the immediate eye area.

OPI Summer 2019 Collection – Summer Neons (Review & Swatches)
Rainbows… and neon. I mean… before I even start typing up this post, you basically already know that I’m in love with this colour scheme that OPI has developed for their Summer 2019 collection!
With the Summer Neons collection, you’re getting the full rainbow spectrum (I’m classifying the pink as red really) and while they’re neon, there’s also a hint of softness to the shades which makes them very enticing.
As all the shades have a neon edge to them, they do require a little more layering than I usually have to do with OPI’s polishes. There’s a translucency to the base, but thankfully they do actually layer without any issues. For all of the nail swatch photos below I have three polish layers on without a base or top coat. In practice, I found I actually preferred to wear 4 or 5 layers of the polish (and it STILL layered nicely then) with a shiny top coat on top. The texture of the polishes is occasionally slightly matte, so adding the top coat bumped up the shine factor which is how I prefer to wear my polishes.
V.I.Pink Passes is a luminescent medium pink that definitely dries down a bit of a satin-matte finish.
Orange You A Rockstar is a bright shiny coral-orange – I absolutely LOVE this shade!
PUMP Up The Volume is a bright sunshine yellow that has a bit more sheerness to it. When I wore this for a full week I ended up putting five layers on to achieve complete opacity.
Dance Party Teal Dawn is another one with a bit more of a translucent base – so layering it is a must. The colour screams seafoam to me.
Music Is My Muse was very difficult to capture on camera because it’s so, so vibrant in real life and I feel like all of my camera settings were muting it down. This colour is BEAUTIFUL!
Positive Vibes Only which is a bright, vibrant purple.
Final Thoughts
The OPI Summer Neons collection is fulfilling my need for vibrant rainbow neons this summer. When I initially saw the collection online I just about gasped with shock because they were so, so beautiful. I do find they need to be layered quite a bit so that my nail bed doesn’t show through, but I’m happy to do it since it results in such a vibrant colour. It’s also really nice that they layer so easily without disturbing the layers underneath, so that makes layering a non-issue in my eyes (just a bit more time consuming is all).
My favourites are PUMP Up The Volume (I can’t get enough of yellow lately), Orange You A Rockstar, and Positive Vibes Only. Which do you like the most?
The OPI Summer Neons can be purchased on nailpolishcanada.com for $10.99 CAD each.

Maybelline City Bronzers (Review & Swatches)
I feel like more and more bronzers keep popping up on the market lately… and I ain’t mad about it because it’s one of my favourite face products to apply. I just love swirling my big ole brush in a massive pan of product and using it to warm up my face. It’s the next best thing to having a real tan, and obviously much, much better for your skin. I’ve been trying out the new(ish) Maybelline City Bronzer range lately for all of my bronzing needs.
The City Bronzers are actually labelled as a bronzer and contour product, but it’s going to depend entirely on your skintone if these will work for you as a contour shade. I don’t contour with any kind of frequency, so I use these strictly as a bronzer. The City Bronzers are infused with whipped cocoa butter and come in three matte-finish shades.
Of the three shades, I have 100 and 200 which are the most likely to suit me. There’s quite a shade gap between 100 and 200, so I think medium skintones may be able to use 200 if it’s applied quite heavily. 200 also has a bit more of a warmer edge when compared to 100. For me, 100 is a winter bronzer, and 200 is a summer bronzer on my skintone.
Since it’s July right now and I have a bit of sun on my face, 100 comes across very, very pale. You can barely even tell I have bronzer on my face in the above shot. For me, this makes it an ideal winter bronzer since I know it won’t look too obvious when I’m at my palest.
Right now, 200 definitely has more depth on my skin and I’ve been using it a lot to add some strength to my summer tan!
Final Thoughts
Although I didn’t use the Maybelline City Bronzers as a contour, I’m impressed that they lean neutral enough that I could’ve potentially used them that way if I wanted. Bronzers, for the most part, tend to have a very warm edge to them which can make them harder to wear as a contour product so it’s so nice to see a bronzer that isn’t so warm toned because not everyone is comfortable using such warm shades. In practice, they’re easy to apply and quite pigmented. I used a lighter hand for 200 in order to ensure I wasn’t going ham with the bronzer, but I think that’s good because medium skintones may be able to use as a bronzer. There is only one darker shade though (300), so I’m not sure how super deep skintones will fare with these shades.
TL;DR: Nice tones and good shades for light (potentially medium) skintones. Soft and easy to blend.
The Maybelline City Bronzers can be purchased on shoppersdrugmart.com for $10.99 CAD or on ulta.com for $9.99 USD each.
