Although previously called the Paris Runway palette, this Wet n Wild palette now goes by the name QuartzCenter. It was part of the Fergie collection, so I’m not sure if it was renamed for release in Canada, or if Fergie’s contract with Wet n Wild expired.
Either way, this palette is surprisingly good given it’s inexpensive price point!

The product featured in this post was sent to me for consideration.
Let me start off by saying this product actually confuses me a bit. I believe the Wet n WildVelvet Matte Lip Colors launched as part of the Fergie Wet n Wild line in the USA (and were branded with her logo on it), but I got these here in Canada at a Wet n Wild launch party a few weeks ago. They’re missing the Fergie logo, and they seem to have totally different names when I compare them to the Fergie linup. I wonder if the rights to her line were only for the USS? I’m fairly confident that despite the shade names being different, they are in fact the same shades!
Regardless of their names, this is an entirely new set of products to me. Being the matte lip lover that I am, I was more than happy to try these out! The Velvet Matte Lip Colors come encased in a soft rubberized tube (similar to NARS packaging) and twist up from the bottom and can, thankfully, can be twisted back down. Although five of the nine shades look to be near identical in colour, I found that the colour of the packaging was SERIOUSLY misleading. If you can believe it, there’s actually a pinky-purple and a straight up magenta in there!
These have a soft matte feeling which is starting to become pretty standard for matte lip products. I did feel like some of the shades required a bit more pressure to be applied (almost as if I had to break through some kind of sheer coating to get through to the colour), but once I got there, the colour was fairly solid. Some of the shades were a bit more sheer (namely Lie Lack and Turnt Orange) and you’ll definitely be able to see that in the arm swatches. Overall, I’m impressed with the consistency of these especially given that the price point is around $3-4 USD/CAD.

Final Thoughts
You cannot go wrong with this kind of price point, especially if you want to try out a new lip colour! The texture is wonderful and if you like any of the colours above, I’d recommend checking them out! My personal favourite shades are Hickory Smoked, Turnt Orange (although it looks drastically different on my lips compared to the swatch) and Toffee Frappe.

There’s some new colours in the Wet n WildMega Liner Liquid Eyeliner lineup and they’re freaking stunners!
The Wet n WildMega Liners are designed like an ink well – you dip back in to get more product out. They’re said to be “formulated with high-definition pigment and a unique blend of polymers for a rich fluid formula that dries fast and stays put to subtly enhance or dramatically define”.
The best part about these liners? They’re MATTE! I was not expecting that at all, so when I first used them I was totally taken aback. I am so, so happy that these bright vibrant colours are in a matte formula as it creates a sharp impact on the eyes which I much prefer (instead of a shiny liner).
The Mega Liner comes with a flexible felt tip liner that is blissfully long and pointy. I have a huge complaint with liquid liners that are not long enough because I usually end up creating a stubby wing. Thankfully, that isn’t a problem with the Mega Liner – the tip is flexible and long enough to create a beautiful wing.
Voltage Blue is opaque in one swipe and has beautiful pigmentation. Electric Purple is more liquid overall and may require two passes to reach full opacity (still a lovely shade nonetheless).
Wearing Voltage Blue. I die over this colour!
Wearing Voltage Blue – see how crisp and sharp that line is? Beauuuuutiful pigmentation.
Wearing Electric Purple. Darker and more subtle than Voltage Blue.
Wearing Electric Purple – I had a slightly more difficult time with the application on this one. It might be because it was a bit more watery so I had to make several passes (creating a more jagged edge).
Here’s a comparison shot: The shot on the left was taken at 7:30 in the morning before I went to work. The shot on the right was taken when I got home from work at 5 pm. Although my eye shape isn’t identical (sorry!), you can see there is no change in pigmentation and the liner held up the entire day (roughly 10 hours!).
Final Thoughts
It’s worth noting that the Mega Liners are not waterproof – so just keep that in mind. Overall, I’m impressed with the pigmentation and formula of these two liquid liners, *especially* when you consider their price point is somewhere around two to three bucks. Out of the two of them, I do prefer Voltage Blue as I felt it had superior pigmentation. That being said, both liners had a longevity over 10 hours long which is hugely impressive to me. Because really, if my liner can’t last an entire work day, why would I even bother applying it??
Let me know if you’ve tried these out or if these shades are something you would wear. 🙂

With Halloween over, I can finally catch up on my backlog of posts to get through. I had hoped to have my Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Challenge Week up this week, but it seems that isn’t happening, so that’ll be up next week! Till then, here’s a collection of looks that I wore at some point throughout October with a couple guest posts chucked in for good measure. Enjoy!
I wore this to a preview of the H&M Beauty Department and got a lot of compliments on it. It’s one of my favourite colour combos so I was really happy that others seemed to like it as well!

I was headed out to Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland and had to wear something festive. Because even though it may not be seen by anyone due to how dark it was, *I* still knew I was wearing something fun! And by the way? Canada’s Wonderland Halloween Haunt? TOTALLY worth it. I had so much fun!

There’s some exciting things in this haul! I got a bunch of stuff from overseas and that’s always enough to make me start squealing!
This NeutrogenaCC Cream was such a surprise to me – it was in my Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon goodie bag! At first I thought it was just sunscreen, but nope – it’s definitely a tinted cc cream. SO COOL! I’m excited to try this one out.
Time for my yearly repurchase of the Real TechniquesMiracle Complexion Sponge! I’ve started picking them up whenever IMATS happens, but they were only taking cash at the Farley Co and I hadn’t brought any this year. So anyway, I picked this one up at FTB Beauty and I’ve already started using it. As a note, if you take care of your sponges, they do last a really long time. There was nothing inherently wrong with my old Complexion Sponge as I clean it frequently enough, but after a full year of use, I just wanted a fresh one.
The next few items are via Natalie of Ivory Avenue! She was in England for a little while and she managed to snag me every single item on my wishlist. What a champ!
So the first item of my list was the BourjoisHealthy Mix Serum foundation in shade 52 Vanilla. I LOVE THIS STUFF. I ran through an entire bottle this year and when I finished it I was so so sad. This stuff is freaking magic on the skin (full review over here) and I am so happy to have it back in my collection. I still have a few other foundations I want to finish before I get to use this one but YES – SO HAPPY! Also, the reason I asked her to pick it up for me in the UK is because even with our Canadian dollar being pretty shitty right now, it’s still cheaper to buy it in the UK than it is to get it in Canada. How frustrating is that??
The other item I wanted to try was the BourjoisDelice de Poudre. I’m a bronzer fiend so every time I see something new or unique, I want it. Not that this powder is especially new on the market, but since I hadn’t picked it up before, it’s new to me! The powder is supposed to smell like cocoa or chocolate, but honestly? I smell coconut. Lots and lots of coconut. It also comes with a whopping 14g of product (a bronzer normally has 9-10g) and looks like chocolate. Adorable.
Soap & Glory‘s Glow All Out is kind of weird to me. When you open the compact you’ll notice the powder is full on PINK. So I was a liiiitle bit skeptical this would work as a highlighter and not a blush. As it turns out, the pigmentation of the actual colour is fairly weak (which is good!) and it instead packs a bunch of shine. It’s pretty, but more of a subtle highlight.
Annnnd another bronzer. Soap & Glory‘s Solar Powder bronzer has a dark side and a light, but really… I’m just going to end up swirling my brush through both of them.
I had asked Natalie to find me Soap & Glory‘s Sexy Motherpucker in Nudist since I loved my Raplumzel so much. She wasn’t able to, but she gave me HERS instead! I wasn’t expecting that at all and yet I’m so pleased because this colour is stunning on me. It’s a gorgeous translucent nude that adds just a little bit of colours but a whole lot of shine. Plus the scent is to die for. By the way, I don’t know if these are discontinued now, but they’re no longer on Soap & Glory’s UK site and Natalie was saying they were sold out almost everywhere. :s
If you made me pick a favourite foundation I’d be tempted to say the BourjoisHealthy Mix Serum…. but this is sliiightly better since it provides a touch more coverage. Boots No7Instant Radiance foundation is freaking BOMB and you can’t find it in Canada anywhere or at Target in the US (they don’t have the Instant Radiance line). This is the foundation that I always notice makes my skin flawless in photos. I ended up getting Cool Vanilla and Warm Ivory because sometimes I feel Cool Vanilla is too pink. I’m so, SO happy to have these back in my arsenal!
And lastly, a cast off from another blogger’s collection: Wet n Wild‘s Sunset Junction. Not sure what I think about it yet, but hey, I love trying new things.
That’s it for this month! Have you picked up anything exciting recently?
